Why it belongs with the Soluta

The Soluta is the woven top handle, the bag that comes out for the dinner where the lattice will be noticed and the long strap is worn across the body. The Domus is the plain one: black leather without the weave, a deep, boxy body that stands on the floor beside a desk and keeps its shape when it is nearly empty. Why it belongs with the Soluta

The woven Soluta is carried by the handle or on its long strap, and it is the bag for the evening and the occasion. There's a saying among Japanese artisans I keep coming back to—the shokunin never say "what I make," only "what we make." The weaver, the tanner, the person sharpening the unseen tools. Every object is a crowd, holding still. So when you look at the Soluta Woven, I hope you see that crowd. It is the tanner who perfected the color, the artisan who patiently wove each strip into a living surface, and the craftsman who precisely aligned the hardware. This collective effort serves one single purpose: making your day lighter. We gave it two front buckles open into separate spaces—one for what you need next, one for what stays undisturbed. Undo one side, leave the other closed. The bag organizes your day automatically. Beautifully complex in its making, but entirely effortless to use.

Material & care
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth. If it gets wet, let it dry away from heat.
Keep out of prolonged sun and damp; both shift the colour of leather.
Store upright, out of direct light, with the bag empty.
Natural marks in the hide are left in deliberately. The colour deepens with wear.
