Versa

The pebbled Versa is the everyday convertible, a black tote that becomes a backpack for the cycle, the walk or the crowded train. That is the working half of the day. The Veluna is the same pebbled black in a hobo: one soft compartment, a zip, a single strap, and no structure to hold it upright. The Versa does the hours with a laptop or a lunch in them; the Veluna does the evening, the weekend and the short outing. Same grain, same colour, two silhouettes, so the pair reads as one leather in two moods. Friday at six the Versa goes home and the Veluna goes to the restaurant.

The Versa and the Versa Carryall are one design at two sizes, in the same black pebbled leather. The Versa is the bag for the ordinary day; the Carryall is for the day with the laptop, the folder and a change of shoes in one place, and it converts to a backpack the same way. Owners of one tend to add the other, because the diary does not stay one size. Same grain, same black, same conversion, so the two read as a single bag that grows and shrinks with the week. Airport morning, the Carryall with everything in it; Wednesday lunch, the Versa with a notebook and a phone.
