Versa

The Versa in black woven leather is the daily convertible, tote on the way in and backpack on the way out, with the laptop inside. The Veluna is the bag for when that is over: pebbled black, slouched, one zipped compartment, a single strap on the shoulder. The Versa covers the office hours; the Veluna covers the evening, the weekend and the short walk to somewhere. Two blacks, the lattice with a sheen and the grain with a matte softness, so the pair reads as one wardrobe in two moods. Friday at six the Versa goes under the desk and the Veluna goes to the restaurant.

The Versa and the Versa Carryall are the same idea at two sizes: a tote that becomes a backpack with a slide of the straps. The woven Versa, 36.5 cm across, is the bag for the ordinary day. The Carryall is for the day that needs the laptop, the folder and a change of clothes in one place, and its pebbled black leather is the plainer surface for the heavier load. Owners of one tend to end up with the other, because the diary does not hold to one size. Black beside black, weave beside grain.
